OPTIMA partners with industry and research institutions to develop solutions to complex optimisation problems pervasive in the Advanced Manufacturing, Energy Resources, Infrastructure, and other sectors.

Our industry partners all seek to do more with less – e.g. efficient energy generation, managing critical infrastructure resources, efficient and sustainable manufacturing – often focusing on multiple and conflicting commercial, environmental and societal goals. OPTIMA collaborates with our industry partners to work on their specific challenge problems while developing an industry-ready optimisation toolkit to improve the future global competitiveness of our current industry partners, and others who will join us over the life of the Centre.

OPTIMA will transform optimisation technology to prioritise end-user ease, comprehension, and trust.

Benefits of partnering with OPTIMA include:

  • A solution to the optimisation challenge of the industry partner.
  • Access to numerous optimisation experts in a Centre with >100 members.
  • A high-quality PhD student undertaking up to 12-month of placement in industry.
  • New IP generated, with the expectation that industry partners will commercialise.
  • Training opportunities for our industry partners to upskill in optimisation technologies.
  • Influence on the training and mentoring of the next generation workforce.
  • An optimisation toolkit developed in line with industry needs.
