With OPTIMA’s backing, Elham participated in OPTIMA-CON24 in Melbourne, joining researchers, industry experts, and students from across Australia. The conference enriched her teaching and research by highlighting diverse real-world applications of optimisation and inspiring her to integrate practical problems into her curriculum.
As a recipient of OPTIMA’s support, Iman attended OPTIMA-CON24 in Melbourne to present his research on multi-objective optimisation of open-pit mining problems. The conference gave him constructive feedback, opportunities to connect with leading experts from academia and industry, and inspiration to apply optimisation techniques to real-world challenges.
Ishara Hewa Pathiranage
Supported by OPTIMA, Ishara took part in the AI-OPT 2025 Workshop, where she presented her PhD research on evolutionary bi-objective optimisation for the stochastic multiple knapsack problem. The event offered her valuable technical feedback, and created opportunities to build collaborations with peers and senior researchers.
Funded by an OPTIMA Travel Grant, Helen joined the AI-OPT 2025 Workshop in Melbourne. As a first-year PhD student, she valued the opportunity to present her research, broaden her perspective on optimisation applications, and connect with experts and peers across Australia.
