OPTIMA Members are invited to join a fortnightly casual reading group to present and discuss topics on sequential decision problems and modelling.

We specifically focus on the SEQUENTIAL DECISION ANALYTICS AND MODELING: Modelling exercises with Python book from Warren Powell. The book develops a specific modelling process which is then illustrated using a range of real word problems and their application. It uses a “teach by example” style where a series of carefully chosen problem settings are used to bring out different modelling and algorithmic devices.

Sessions are fortnightly on Wednesdays at 3pm, in Room 8108, Melbourne Connect. A Zoom link is also available on request if you would like to join online.
