Abstract:

Join us as we celebrate five years of OPTIMA. What began in 2021 with just 18 members has grown into a thriving community of more than 160 researchers, students and industry partners. Over the past five years, we have connected optimisation researchers across our two founding universities, expanded our network to other Australian institutions and four international university partners, welcomed 12 industry partners, and supported 13 industry PhD students. While we still have one year remaining in the Centre, we want to take a moment to reflect on how far we have come and celebrate the people who have helped make OPTIMA such a vibrant and collaborative community. This afternoon tea will also provide an opportunity to thank Professor Kate Smith-Miles for her outstanding leadership as Director and to welcome our new Director as OPTIMA enters its final year. We hope you can join us to celebrate this important milestone.
